Life Lessons I Wish I Knew: A Letter to My Teenage Self

Life Lessons I Wish I Knew: A Letter to my Teenage Self

Dear Teenage Self,

If you see this letter, you should know that the coming years will be hard. You have to be strong! I know mom is gone and it's not going to be easy. There will be a lot of temptations. People will come and go. Some will help you and some will take advantage of what you share. Friends wouldn't be easy but family will always be there to support. They got your back!

Time is the master, so don't question what happens or doesn't happen. Trust the process! Please remember that in every bad situation, there is always good. You will understand as you get older, and things will become clear. Be careful of what you think and wish for because they will come true. Your mind is a powerful tool!
Not everyone will agree with what you have to say or the decisions you make but trust your gut! You and I know that it never fails. You don't have to do anything to please anyone. They will love you for who you are. Don't be afraid, speak up! Ask questions to get the answers that you need. I know that you are smart.

Sometimes you will feel lost and have no one to lean on but remember that God is watching. Just Pray! Educate yourself on anything you need to know. You can read all the books or learn any language. Develop yourself to be the best version.

I know I know what about boys, right? they will come and go. Just stay focused! Continue to set your goals and follow through with each accomplishment. Each time you achieve a goal on your list, reward yourself.

Don't limit yourself! If you want to be the CEO be it. You never know what can happen. Peer pressure, oh yes! will always be there. It wouldn't be an issue but be cautious.

Feeling overwhelmed is something that will happen especially at times when you feel like the world is on your shoulders. Take it one day at a time. Write down all your long-term and short-term goals and follow through. This will help you to stay on track.

Do you know what I love the most about you? You think about others and how you always wanted to do something to help. You will be the person you have always wanted to be when you have your daughter. The daughter you have been scared to have because you think you have missed out and not prepared enough. Not to worry, you will be a GREAT mother.

One last thing, I LOVE YOU! YOU ARE STRONG! YOU'RE ADMIRABLE!

love,
Your Young Adult Self
